Build your sourcing budget

All five fields are required. Use USD throughout; the last three amounts cover the entire order. Enter 0 only when confirmed as zero or already included elsewhere.

1–5,000 motors; whole units.

$0.01–$100,000 per motor; match the quoted configuration.

$0–$1,000,000 for the entire order; only costs outside the unit quote.

$0–$100,000,000 for the order, supplied by your broker. Unknown is not zero.

$0–$1,000,000: clearance, local delivery, inspection or tooling not already counted.

Your budget will appear here

Enter your supplier quote, freight estimate and broker-confirmed import charges, then calculate. If those are unavailable, load the illustrative example to explore the method.

No prices or tariff rates are supplied automatically. The report below explains what evidence to collect.

Next: collect dated quotes, confirm each cost is counted once, and request a sample for engineering validation.

Three decisions before choosing a China AGV motor supplier

Compare the full configuration

A manufacturer’s BLV R lineup lists different gearing, voltage and brake options. Our procurement recommendation: match these variables before comparing unit prices. This is a specification reference, not evidence of China market pricing. Manufacturer lineup.

Obtain a shipment-specific import estimate

USTR’s Section 301 lookup depends on the HTS subheading. TARIC lists EU customs measures but excludes national VAT rates. Our recommendation: enter a broker’s total charge estimate rather than applying a country-wide percentage. USTR; TARIC.

Keep component and vehicle approval separate

CE responsibilities depend on the applicable product rules; ISO 3691-4:2023 addresses driverless industrial trucks and their systems. Our recommendation: require model-specific evidence and vehicle-level validation. EU guidance; ISO scope.

How the sourcing budget is calculated

Goods subtotal = quantity × quoted unit price. Planning total = goods + freight and insurance + import duties and taxes + other order costs. Per-motor cost = planning total ÷ quantity. Amounts are accumulated in cents; only the displayed per-motor value is rounded.

  1. Collect a dated motor quote and configuration.
  2. Add freight, import and other costs once.
  3. Calculate total and per-motor budget.
  4. Validate a sample before purchase.
Input boundaries are calculator limits, not statements about market prices.
InputAccepted rangeEvidence to retain
Quantity1–5,000 whole motorsPurchase quantity matching the unit-price tier.
Unit price$0.01–$100,000 per motorDated supplier quote, currency, named delivery term and bill of materials.
Freight / insurance$0–$1,000,000 per orderForwarder quote for packed size, weight and route; identify exclusions.
Import duties / taxes$0–$100,000,000 per orderBroker estimate for actual classification, origin and shipment date.
Other order costs$0–$1,000,000 per orderClearance, local delivery, inspection, tooling and other separate charges.

All amounts must be converted to USD consistently before entry. Unknown costs remain unknown. The tool does not estimate customs value, recoverable tax, financing, downtime or technical fit. Arithmetic runs locally and immediately; there is no remote price lookup or waiting step.

Compare suppliers on the same scope

Use this recommended comparison worksheet for any supplier location. Public evidence reviewed here does not establish a universal China discount, country-based reliability ranking, MOQ or delivery promise.

Fill each column from a written quote; an empty cell is an unresolved decision.
CompareMotor-only offerGeared motor / drive moduleAcceptance evidence
Included hardwareConfirm motor, shaft and connector.Confirm gearbox, brake, encoder, driver and wheel individually.Signed bill of materials and drawings.

Cost boundaryAdd separately sourced components and assembly.Check what the module quote excludes.Dated quote and separate tooling / service charges.

Why wattage alone is insufficient: the BLV R manufacturer specification distinguishes gear, supply and brake variants. Use this as an example of comparison dimensions, not as a recommendation of a supplier or a guarantee of equivalence.

Resolve import charges before committing

Source scope checked 19 September 2026. No current rate or product classification is assigned by this page.
Source / marketWhat it can establishWhat remains to confirm
USTR / United StatesSection 301 lookup by HTS subheading.Exact product classification, all applicable duties, exclusions, fees and entry date.
TARIC / European UnionEU customs measures and product nomenclature.Applicable code and origin, customs valuation, national VAT and local fees.
Other destinations, including ASEANNo destination-specific rate is established here.Ask the destination broker about classification, origin documentation and any preference eligibility.

Consult the official USTR search and TARIC description with your broker. Recheck for the shipment date. An HS chapter heading or an old ruling for a different motor is not a complete fee estimate.

Risks, tradeoffs and practical alternatives

Editorial procurement checklist: these are review actions, not measured supplier failure rates.
RiskDecision impactMitigation / alternative
Misuse: peak torque treated as continuousThermal limits or gearbox loading may be missed.Request rated conditions and test the actual duty cycle; revise the drive selection if evidence is missing.
Cost: a cheap motor-only quote compared with a complete moduleMissing components and engineering effort distort the budget.Compare identical bills of materials; price missing components or request an integrated offer.
Scenario mismatch: brake, feedback or environmentA catalogue motor may not meet vehicle interfaces or route conditions.Specify holding, feedback and environmental needs; pilot the configuration before a bulk order.
Import or quote changesPlanning totals become stale.Keep dated quotes and charge estimates; rerun the budget before purchase and shipment.
Support and replacement exposureA replacement can require engineering time and interrupt operations.Agree spare parts, response expectations and revision control; compare a locally supported option.

Three worked budget examples

All amounts below are invented USD inputs for arithmetic practice. They are not supplier quotes, observed prices or tariff predictions. No bulk discount is inferred automatically.

Reproduce each row in the calculator. Freight, import and other charges are order totals.
Illustrative scenarioQuantity × unit quoteFreight + import + otherTotal / per motor
One evaluation unit1 × $100$50 + $0 + $20$170 / $170.00
100-unit planning example100 × $95$400 + $2,850 + $150$12,900 / $129.00
1,000-unit planning example1,000 × $80$1,500 + $24,000 + $500$106,000 / $106.00
  • Evaluation unit: the zero import entry is only a scenario assumption. Replace it with a broker estimate.
  • 100 units: the example button loads this row. The $2,850 import amount is an invented total, not a tax-rate recommendation.
  • 1,000 units: lower assumed unit price does not establish savings. Obtain an actual quantity quote and consider inventory and support costs separately.

From a shortlist to a sample acceptance plan

1. Freeze the request

Supply voltage, wheel size, load profile, speed, slope, duty cycle, mounting, brake and feedback requirements belong in one revision-controlled request.

2. Ask for evidence

Request matched drawings, curves, interface documentation, test conditions, included hardware and commercial terms. Mark unsupported claims as unresolved.

3. Define pass criteria

Agree measurable limits with the vehicle engineer before ordering a sample. Record performance, interfaces and vehicle-level validation; revise or reject when criteria are missed.

This is a recommended procurement sequence, not a safety validation procedure. ISO 3691-4:2023 defines a driverless-truck system scope; a motor cost worksheet cannot establish that system’s conformity. Verify the applicable edition and requirements for the project.

AGV motor China sourcing FAQ

Budget and import costs

Is this a live China AGV motor price database?

No. Enter a dated quote for the exact motor configuration. The example values are invented to demonstrate arithmetic; they do not establish a market price or discount.

What if my duty or freight amount is unknown?

Leave it blank and request an estimate from the broker or forwarder. The calculator will flag missing inputs. Use the illustrative example only to learn the workflow.

Can I enter a DDP or delivered quote?

Yes, if you identify what is included. Enter the delivered unit quote, and set covered cost categories to zero. Add only charges you must pay separately; confirm the named destination and exclusions with the seller.

Does the tool calculate US, EU or ASEAN tariffs?

No. It adds the import charge amount you provide. Ask a broker to confirm classification, origin, customs value, applicable measures and shipment date. A destination label alone cannot establish duty or preference eligibility.

Is recoverable VAT a permanent motor cost?

The tool treats all entered tax as a cash outlay. It does not assess recovery. Have your finance team maintain a separate net-cost view using the tax treatment that applies to your business.

Can I download the assumptions?

After a valid calculation, download the text worksheet beside the result. It includes every input, the formula, totals and limitations. Editing any input hides the old download until you recalculate.

Supplier selection and validation

Are motors sourced from China always cheaper?

No universal saving is established here. Compare matched configurations, delivered costs, support and sample-test results. A low unit quote can be offset by tooling, freight, integration or replacement costs.

Does the same wattage mean motors are interchangeable?

No. Request the torque-speed curve at the operating voltage, duty cycle, gearbox rating, feedback interface, driver details, brake behaviour and mechanical drawing. Validate the complete combination in your vehicle.

What proves a supplier can deliver the requested configuration?

Recommended evidence includes a signed bill of materials, revision-controlled drawing, sample test record and written production/inspection plan. A catalogue listing is a starting point, not acceptance evidence.

What MOQ or delivery time should I assume?

Neither is established by this page. Request separate sample, customisation and production quotes with dates. Check tooling approval, component availability, transit and customs assumptions before promising a delivery date.

Does a CE logo or an ISO reference approve the finished AGV?

No. Check the model-specific documentation and applicable requirements with the integration team. The official CE and ISO sources below explain responsibilities and system scope; this budget worksheet does not certify a vehicle.

When should I pause a bulk purchase?

Pause when any critical specification, import cost, test criterion or support obligation remains unresolved. Request the missing document or a pilot batch with written acceptance criteria before committing to volume.
